Credentials required: The applicant should have Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification, Air Brake Endorsement, Driver’s License, Hoist Operator Trade Certification, Hoist Operator (boom truck) Trade Certification, Hoist Operator (boom truck B) Trade Certification, Hoist Operator (conventional crane) Trade Certification, Hoist Operator (hydraulic crane) Trade Certification, Hoist Operator (mobile crane 8-15 tons) Trade Certification, Hoist Operator (tower crane) Trade Certification, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, CADD Course, Propane in Construction Record of Training.

Human Resources Responsibility: 11 - 20

Workers Supervised: Heavy equipment operators, except crane, Public works maintenance equipment operators, Apprentices, Trades helpers, Labourers

Major Work Area: Equipment operation, Excavation, Grading, Moving cargo, Paving

Type of Industry Experience: Construction, Pipeline construction, Independently owned business

Specific Skills: Supervise workers and projects, Coordinate and schedule activities, Requisition food and kitchen supplies and equipment, Recommend staffing actions, Ensure adherence to safety standards

Additional Skills: Prepare production and other reports, Oversee apprenticeship training, Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions, Estimate material and labour costs

Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles
